Date night... we all know for most couples when you have kids date night goes out the window till the kiddies are off legal age and it was the same for me and my husband, but we knew that we needed to make time for ourselves, to make us feel human.
It was hard as we didn't want to dump the kids on the grandparents all the time, so we had to think of something that would work without babysitters and so we thought of this.
1. The weekend is best to do this but if another day is best for you, do that day
2. Our kids are 5 and 2 so one of them doesn't nap and the other can go without, so that's why the weekends are best because we stop our youngest napping so when we put her to bed at 6:30-7pm she falls asleep straight away, our son normally goes straight to bed after her and is sleeping within 10 mins
3. Make sure you have snacks and drinks, on a Thursday I pop into town to get crisps, chocolate and wine for our date night, You can choose whatever you want.
4.Netflix and chill...
That's how we choose to have a date night that doesn't involve babysitters or a whole lot of spending, sometimes its something simple that can really bring the closeness back, no fancy restaurants and uncombable clothes, just you, your partner, PJs, blankets and some snacks.
The real issue now is to try to stay awake to watch the whole film.
